Yeah actually Sam Simon and Jim Brooks deserve the credit for The Simpsons being good; Groening just came up with the initial idea and the shorts. Also George Lucas had nothing to do with the good parts of Star Wars.

A lot of the actors don't really seem to get the show but I think that might be my own prejudice as having watched all the episodes a hundred times and memorizing them all and they maybe watched it once after doing their lines. It's so disappointing to find out they're not all huge fans like I am!

yeah people always bring up stuff from the old episodes when we poo poo on the new ones. "but they did that 20 years ago too!" and the important thing is, it was funny when they did it 20 years ago and just lazy today. And they weren't making fun of the unions as much as they were making fun of the stereotype
