I'm as against this administration as it gets but come on can we not all pretend like we didn't see how people could have a real problem with that one? I don't care if you did, but if you can't see how it's going to ruffle feathers, I'm not sure you're as astute as you think you are.

I knew "Ed Sheeran" was a person who existed and that a lot of my Southern ex-coworkers listened to. I did not know he was Paul Simon's Later Bad Albums Only Much Worse And Also With Terrible 90s/00s Nostalgia Lyrics Like I had assumed he was, I dunno, like Toby Keith or something

I think you could say something about reducing a woman in power, no matter how bad at her job, to being a sexualized, desperate harpy. But the sketch wasn't the worst form of that, and was at least funny. As always, some people will take criticism of misogyny a bit too far, and others will start shouting about "liberal identity politics" in response. Internet business as usual.

Speaking of international SNL, France has an SNL that airs on Thursdays and it even remakes sketches like cowbell, except so badly. http://www.slate.com/blogs/browbeat/2017/01/19/the_french_version_of_snl_is_an_insult_to_our_national_honor.html

Rosie won't be playing Bannon on the show anytime soon quote:“SNL” apparently never picked up the phone, because when TMZ caught up with O’Donnell on Thursday night, she emphatically denied that there were any plans for her to appear on the show. And in case you missed it (it was advertised during last week's show,) SNL is putting #content on Snapchat. Thankfully someone capped the first SNL Story, "Boycott," so you don't need to install the stupidest app of the decade to watch a pretty funny sketch (in a vertical aspect ratio grr grrrr.) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HLauBmg89PA And tonight's Vintage is Melissa McCarthy with Phoenix from April 6th, 2013. Sidebar: This lovely headline popped up on The Google Internet News MaxXx Searching Engine: I know this one! Because Trump's on fire, that is to say, he's the one doing all the crazy poo poo, and Democrats are a cold wet log in that department. Like a dude doing 19 major newsworthy things every week is gonna be the guy you make fun of And even with that, SNL has still had time to do *~*~*~*BALANCE*~*~*~* bits like The Bubble and Michael Che's entire schtick of I'm Just So Above All You Shrieking Liberals. And finally, speaking of shrieking liberals, tonight's regular episode slot is filled by Dave Chappelle and the Tribe. Enjoy that show again, it was a beauty.

Tonight there's no Vintage, hockey will be on instead. BUT there's a new contingency Vintage for tonight: Wayne Gretzky with Fine Young Cannibals. Contingency simply means programming that is on standby in the event that a live program cannot be broadcast. For the past three seasons, the standby episode of Vintage has been ye olde Richard Pryor show from 1975. After being run a total of 4 times IIRC, they may finally be retiring it. Or the Gretzky show is just being used for tonight, for obvious reasons. This episode was ran last season too, though it was joined in-progress after... a hockey game. So if the game ends really early, or is canceled for some reason, you'll see (at least some of) Gretzky.
