Seeing as it hasn't been brought up yet, I'll just mention that the back of the manual (at least, in the UK PS2 version) covers (very briefly) some of the cultural and linguistic aspects of the game (including translations for a number of kanji). The largest section does of course go to Amaterasu Omikami, but I want to mention the manual's comments regarding Issun's folktale inspiration. Issun Boushi This tale concerns a tiny adventurer whose name should sound familiar. Also appearing in this tale is the [Redacted key item spoiler] that shows up in the game. Real informative, wouldn't you agree?
