Fat of the land was their high point for me, everything that followed was just attempting to attain what once was. The last album was loving dogshit. I remember listening to fat of the land whilst doing my art exams at school through some lovely little cd player.

I remember a Guardian interview they did when one of their albums was about to be released, they were lamenting that there was nothing new and exciting about music anymore. The album they went on to release was basically lovely b-sides to Invaders and a track with Flux Pavillion a solid 5 years after dubstep had died a death. I just sat there laughing like c'mon guys, seriously? *edit: found it: https://www.theguardian.com/music/2015/jan/17/the-prodigy-the-day-is-my-enemy-oasis-blur quote:“Producers are too safe, they rely on being retro. It’s loving bollocks. There’s no pushing forward any more.”

Mierenneuker posted:Definitely one more little reason why The Matrix was fantastic. That transition from the Dragula remix to Mindfields is amazing. That's the DJ just smashing the fader over they're not even beatmatched.
