Vancomycin is a big one for us. It probably should not be considered a broad spectrum antibiotic but many doctors treat it as such, especially considering how dangerous it can be to skin tissue and kidneys
"Broad spectrum" doesn't mean "harmless" or even "suitable for use as a first-line treatment", it means "indiscriminately kills a poo poo-ton of different types of bacteria". Vancomycin murders the poo poo out of almost every known Gram-positive bacterial species, so it's a broad spectrum compound by definition.
