Oh poo poo, I remember that one! The instructions weren't totally complete; the step-by-step process was enough to make a high-pressure squirt gun, and then the goon said he figured actually giving directions for anything past that point was illegal.
I lurked for a while, and finally joined because of games and LPs. I still play games and do a let's play, so I guess that panned out. Also, there's actually some cool goons out there, and goonmeets are a thing and have been going on long enough that the worst, grossest potential outcomes have all already happened, so I don't need to worry about that anymore.
He also didn't have a check valve (I think that's what it's called) on it initially, so theoretically the flame could have gone back into the tank and blown him up. I don't remember if it was goons that noticed that and told him he's an idiot and to fix it, or if he figured it out himself.
That guy was an engineering student at penn state if I recall, my buddy went to school with him.
