When I was in second grade, I went over to a girl's house and we played this game most of the way through. I think we made it to the first Megazord level? I forgot. It's not that memorable, but it's a serviceable beat-em-up, and this show was where it was at in the '90s, so make a good enough tie-in game and you've got easy sales. I think there's a mode where you can play as the Megazord and fight a monster, and it's a two-player fighting game. Either that, or it's a cheat code. PureRok posted:I feel bad for Billy's actor. Since we're going on a nostalgia trip here, I want to say that the badguy in the latest video, Eye Guy, was in that episode where Kim and Billy befriend a blind girl and help her overcome her disability. Then Rita decides to be a complete bitch by creating a monster who has nothing but eyes. I think he's one of the few monsters that doesn't get into a giant Megazord fight either---they just kill him by combining their weapons into that giant Toys R' Us Crossbow thing of theirs. Contrary to how boring of a boss fight he is in the game, I just recall he was one of my favorite MMPR monsters when I was a kid. I could also have this totally wrong and it was another monster entirely.

Fun thing to do, if you watch the second season you can see where they started using characters who'd never really fought that particular power rangers group (it's all shots so you never have to see the bad guy actually fighting the rangers in their suits, until Zords)

You're totally wrong, and I'm pretty sure you must be combining it with the Gnarly Gnome episode (the monster from the previous video).

Oh man. I played this game as a kid. Just seeing it is bringing me memories, good times. That said, I sure as hell didn't realize how lazy the Rangers themselves look. At least the three shown are all recolours of the same sprite (Red's) without the helmet differences each Ranger had. Lazy!

No this time around he's a big ol' face in a wall that comes out like one of those pin toys you can stick your face in. Rita is some kind of ranger killing witch monster and Goldar looks nothing at all like his show counterpart. He just looks like a giant winged monster made completely of gold. I'm really not looking forward to the movie. Early Power rangers didn't need to be dark and gritty.

The lava flow in X5 is exactly like the laser, but is an instant kill, and it destroys the enemies for you. It also comes from nowhere. I have tomorrow off and my package arrived. Guess I'll marathon a season.

So the game ends with entirely different gameplay than the rest of the game. That's...that's really weird. I get that the Megazord had to be in but you can't just suddenly substitute the entire gameplay for the final two bosses. Also our protectors of everything good sure drive like poo poo. They'll end up in a horrendous traffic accident. Please sit down properly, Kim, Zack. Get inside the car, Trini, Billy. Stop driving around the exact same place, Jason. Jesus christ.
