Still, you can just field both, since they're both good and archers are quite good in this game in general. I actually did a run of Birthright on Hard focused entirely around Orochi's Capture mechanic, to the point that she and Corrin were the only regular units I used. It was surprisingly interesting!

Bronze/Brass weapons can also be extremely effective in chokepoints, since not only are they lower damage, they're reliable lower damage, so you don't have to deal with situation of your choker critting or procing skills and opening up the way for more enemies to overwhelm them, which has happened to most likely all of us at one point or another.

Chapter 12 was actually one of the hardest chapters because your guys are bad and the first promoted enemies show up. That said, if you can capture a Great Knight here, he'll carry you for a huge chunk of the game

Daniela is okay. Her stats are pretty bad, though she has good Luck and decent Def for a mage unit, and Savage Blow can help a lot in softening up formations. You don't get a lot of captured units in Birthright with funky skills they're not supposed to have, sadly.Tae posted:

It's worth pointing out the some promoted classes give passive boosts as well. Swordmaster, for instance, gives +10 avoid and crit. Because Ryoma wasn't busted enough, you see.

I'm okay with Dread Fighter Rinkah being given one more shot at not sucking it up! Also Great Lord Orochi is a monster and another fun thing is Lodestar Ryoma. He's not dumb enough yet, let's slap Aether on him. He also looks astonishingly silly in Marth's clothes with his hair and helmet.

Okay, Rinkah's making those stat boosters worthwhile, fair enough. I'm also impressed by how much pain she's putting out with the Bolt Axe, though I guess her personal skill helps there. It's also kind of funny because Dread Fighter actually has worse growths in HP, Strength and Defense then Oni Savage does.

Really, the goddamn dumbest part is the fact that literal pregnancy and birth can occur between chapters, like the one where you're running from Xander. I know it's intended to be gameplay/story segregation but god almighty is it terrible at it. On the other hand, Master of Arms animations are sweet as hell. Spear Master gets some good ones too.

Also, fun thing: compare Kana's level 20 stats: With Corrin's:  She actually stacks up quite favorably. Admittedly, some of that might be due to your Corrin's horrible fear of his Def growth.

Odin is not mechanically amazing but he's serviceable. That said, he makes a surprisingly solid Samurai if you feel like blowing a Heart Seal and probably an Arms Scroll on him. I also loving love his passive, it's so him. Niles kinda suffers a bit from the WTA as a magekiller, especially since he doesn't get the ridiculous skill of Archers and the Dual Yumi is unavailable, but he's still quite good at it and brings solid utility to the board elsewhere. And Kidnap is kinda extremely very incredibly good on Conquest, especially on Hard and Lunatic. In Birthright captured units tend to be serviceable at best, but you can capture an amazing amount of those assholes with bullshit skillsets, and one of the best in the game is in the very next level!

Nyx is Elise But Worse in every way. It's unfortunate, but there's just no reason to use her. Haitaka, though. Rally Defense this early is insanely, amazingly good, and especially so given that the next chapter is infamous for being very difficult...

This map is incredibly hard when doing challenge runs of Conquest, especially if you want all the stuff. That Dracoshield is remarkably hard to get, and thanks to the skill setups they can even chew through Camilla down there, albeit barely. Still, this is one of the most universally liked maps in the game, and with good reason. Multiple optional objectives and a whole mess of different fronts to fight on make for a really fun experience.

Camilla is probably the best unit in Conquest. She's no Ryoma, but she's statistically excellent and just keeps getting better.

Wary Fighter was made for Benny. Give that to him and it negates his only real weakness (besides Armorslayers, but whatever). Wary Fighter is just incredibly good in general. It wipes out the downsides of nearly all of the 1-2 range weapons, and Benny really does become the ultimate wall with it. Also, Tae, you've got Charlotte's class set and passive twice up there.

And now we have Leo, the Worst Royal with The Worst Royal Weapon. Brynhildr's good and all, but it's nowhere close to the Fujin Yumi or the swords. And Leo is a huge letdown, he's mediocre as all hell. We also have Keaton, who's a solid offtank if you need one. His voice line when you recruit him is fun too. "I'm Keaton. Your superior." He's a silly and fun dude in this game of horribly thick characters. I also want to draw attention to Benny's battle portrait when he's winning.  It is Good.

I enjoy Chapter 15. It's good stuff, and it's a decent breather on the heels of 14. These two here are the closest Conquest comes to giving you a breather.
