Man, I wish this show was better. This last episode really showed every single weakness the show has, from the literally three songs in its soundtrack to the awkward timing between both comedic and dramatic beats to the lack of any real animation. The avalanche scene had literally zero tension in it since any motion that could have shown the characters actually hurrying to save themselves happened entirely offscreen, leaving awkward pauses where action should have been, and their escape managed to feel like a huge rear end-pull because neither that run nor the skis were even shown on-screen before the instant they were needed. I bet that 80% of the entire animation budget went into those dancing penguins last episode, leaving just scraps for the actual life-threatening peril that they didn't actually convey.

The gags are good, the animals are well-characterized, and the mystery is compelling, but apart from that I have no idea why I keep watching this pile of garスッゴイィィ！ たのしいぃぃぃぃ！

I came across this after seeing the blowup of fanart. I haven't seen such a thing since Kancolle. Watching the first episode I almost dropped it immediately because of how bad the CG was, especially during the chase sequence between Kaban and Serval. Somehow though I pushed through to episode two, and when I saw how the bridge was in ruins and the bus was separated, my interest was piqued. I had checked out the manga, where you see Japari Park open and operational, before watching the anime, so I wasn't expecting things to be run down. This was strengthened more when I watched the credits sequence (I had skipped it the first time) and saw the pictures of all the abandoned parks with the Friend's silhouettes. Seeing that kind of made me feel sad, like they were lonely ghosts wandering the park, wondering where everyone had gone. I knew right then and there that I had to stick with it just to see what was going on and if things will get better. I'm glad I did.

Anime strike is why the second season of Bahamut never got a dub, which is a crime, but evidently season 2 was bad anyways. So maybe I was just sparred.

There is no good dub or especially notable sub team here to discontinue, so I don't really see much wrong with it aside from further splitting up streaming services.
