Lumpy the Cook posted:Going to Gamestop over the last few years has been interesting, the game sections keep getting smaller and smaller while the sections for tacky "gamer/geek" merchandise get larger and larger. I think half of each Gamestop at this point is Star Wars mugs and funko pop figures. the margins on games are so bad and online discounts are killing retailers they pretty much have to shift this way. a lot of stores make all their money off merchandise now some excellent gamer pics in this

A tape broke because our VCR was too strong I guess. It broke clean, right at the start. My (dumb, but I love them anyway) parents started freaking out. Blockbuster is going to make us pay 60$ for this!! I took the tape and studiously wound it myself, I think it was with a pencil, I don't recall...and left it so the employee rewinding it would "break" it and my parents wouldn't get fined for breaking a tape. Worked perfectly (or maybe they never would have been fined, I dunno)

Yes, i still own a kit that repairs vhs tapes. When tapes were a 100 bucks a pop and it wasnt at end of life, you bet your rear end we'd be fixing it.

I once got my movies and my return routes mixed up and returned "Girls Who Cock Cock and Eat Cum #3" to the Blockbuster and had to go back and retrieve it once I got to the porn shop and tried to return Rain Man or whatever it was. The BB employees were laughing. I hadn't even seen GWSCAEC 1 or 2 but it still held up on its own.
