The Pelicans are 2.5 games out of the playoffs. This is going to be a mid-lottery pick, a mid-first rounder and salary filler for the best center in the league

aBagorn posted:The best possible ending for this is Sacramento winning the lottery, having to give up their pick to the Sixers, and New Orleans somehow missing the playoffs and getting pick 2 or 3 I am really, really basking in this. Sacramento and New Orleans could hit 1-2 in the lotto and the Kings wouldn't get to use either pick

I love it here in New Orleans Looking away from the Sacramento trainwreck, Boogie and the Brow being good in a cool city would be insanely fun. I hope it works out.

You'd think Beck could have at least gotten some juicy on-the-way-out leaks from Sacramento if he was going to be that generous to the front office, but nope. "If you squint, it's like they maybe almost got three lotto picks!"

Like, how could you possibly look at the Sacramento Kings of the past seven years, and think "if not for the cancerous presence of Boogie Cousins, they could have built something here!" The Kings gave away their only other good player during that timespan because they didn't want to sign him to a $7 million / year deal

Calling Steph Curry better than Steve Nash is not ridiculous when you consider that he's clearly better than Steve Nash

So the thesis of this press conference is that Buddy and a mid-first rounder would have been off the table if the Kings waited a couple more days?

Look, we had to tell several other teams to stop making us offers for DeMarcus because we knew they weren't going to get better as several different parties competed with one another and a deadline for making a trade drew closer It's simply not how the market works

It tracks that the only better offer also had to have Buddy in it
