Infidel Castro posted:The only advantage CDs had were storage space. Carts don't have loading time and or get scratched to hell. Which was an enormous advantage. The N64 was an ill-advised system. And if you're not a slob, your CDs won't get "scratched to hell".

Professor SJW posted:is this like how people think disney pays critics to give marvel movies a high score and trash dc movies? i dont think nintendo is giving reviewers yen, guys Reviewers get caught up in the hype train and reverence for name brands just like everyone else. What gaming companies do isn't giving money to reviewers directly, but sending reviewers exclusive collectible poo poo they can then sell on eBay. Or stuff like expensive headsets.

LethalGeek posted:Those scalpers are pretty boned as seems like most goons were able to hit up a random store and find them and then more came in over the weekend. Nintendo, hopefully, learned their lesson from the NES classic gently caress up and just seem to be cranking these things out. More likely: Interest is low.

Cnut the Great posted:That's one way to spin it. The other way is to point out that it's the best-selling game despite the fact that people had to buy an entire new console just to play it. You have to buy a new console to play it for every exclusive launch game. In addition, this could be distorted by the fact the Switch launched at the same time world-wide. Sounds like a meaningless marketing soundbite.
