I <3 them all

Also for those who don't know, Montgomery has a crazy over-the-top arm slot:

The camera angle makes it less impressive, but his arm is totally vertical at release.

Because its just more games on top of a long scheduled and players will get hurt. Both of which make no sense because if they weren't at the WBC they would be playing daily in spring training were they could be injured.

Did he say he didn't like the WBC but liked Spring Training? That would be the important part of establishing a hypocrisy.

Because clearly we shouldn't besmirch the Hawk Harrelson legacy without having all the facts.

He took a called strike three literally down the middle of the plate and then slammed his bat down onto the plate so hard it exploded into a million pieces, at which point the ump tossed him.

Then the ump held up the game for like five loving minutes because he refused to allow play to resume until Puig was out of the stadium. So he just stood their glaring into the dugout while Puig took his gear off, packed up his bag, and walked out of the dugout all the way to the bullpen where the exit is. And even then he wouldn't resume it until he had confirmation Puig was also gone from the pen.

Most encouragingly, he hit it off a lefty! :toot:

Yes. It was pointed out yesterday that he isn't impressing on offense or d, and that Gorkys looked great at both last year and so far this spring. Apparently Span was upset he got platooned at the end of last season, but he's really not making a case against doing this again.

Seems like a ton of money being thrown down a pit, particularly since you could probably televise it in Japan too and draw decent viewership. "Wake up early on Sunday and watch Team Japan play the USA 2016 World Series Champions!"

All he needed to get out of his slump was to be reunited with his friend Russell Martin. He's been pretty great since we acquired him, if he has a solid year the trade seems like a steal, not even considering the other prospects that came with him.

I read a good article a while ago that posits its more pete walkers influence and a return to old mechanics. Elbow is much tighter in. That said his fastball was on point in that game and if that can keep up he will be dominant as his offspeed stuff is great. Really looking like the jays have one of if not the best 1 through 5 in the league.

Is anyone still watching spring training?

Trea Turner beats out an infield hit, then after 4 or 5 throws over, takes a couple hops on a secondary lead and bam, he's standing up at 2nd by the time the throw gets there. Ridiculous.

Lance McCullers is going to be so good if he can improve his command a little bit. Was dominating and then randomly plunks a couple guys.

In the Tor/NY game, Saltalamaccia tried to throw down to second and just kind of spiked the ball 5 feet from the plate a couple innings ago, it was pretty funny.
