If I was yoel / Jacare I wouldn't give a poo poo. If GSP wins I get to fight a welterweight for stupid cash. If Bisping wins I still get to fight Bisping whose stock has sky-rocketed.

No one minded Hendo/Bisping II because there was no clear #1 contender, but it's 100% Yoel's turn right now and they shouldn't be offering it to anyone else. I wouldn't care if GSP fought the Woodley/Wonderboy winner but this is some straight nonsense Yoel lost to Jacare and cheated with corner shenanigans in two of his last 4 fights. Also, he's on steroids. gently caress him.

maia is still being punished for the silva fight. also rashad does an outstanding tyson impression. man the phil davis fight was so cathartic. phil getting epicly denied 2 title shots in drastically different and humiliating ways are really good memories and i can thank rashad for one of them.

At what point is it worth it for the fighter to go through a camp to potentially fight two different fighters and say, get their show money if they don't fight? seriously. just see if there's anyone in the top ten who will be prepared to cut weight for 5k or whatever and if needed gets a nice little bonus win or lose.

Memento posted:Gotcha, that makes sense. The thing with that is that if you set a precedent for having a back up for title fights, you're incentivising the rest of the top ten to be on weight every title fight in case of a drop out. And with the UFC treating fighters like they do, they wouldn't bother paying anyone for it and just rely on the fighters to do it themselves, endangering their health every time for probably nothing. true, but it's happening so often nowadays if i was a top 10 fighter who doesn't really deserve a shot i'd be on weight every title fight.

Bisping telling gsp that the only reason they're fighting is because gsp thinks he's an easy fight and that he didn't want anything to do with Anderson when he was the man was uncomfortably real and cool as gently caress. I hope Bisping takes that chip on his shoulder and beats gsp, then yoel or whoever, and retires with one of the most remarkable careers and collection of scalps the sport has ever seen. Bisping owns is what I'm trying to say.

He can still take shots but they can put him down and have been with more regularity. Hes not Chuck or Pitbull shot, but he cant take it on the chin like he used to and that is very bad for his style. i think that's extremely diengenuous. he ducked directly into a rising knee from werdum and was still fully conscious, he was still fully conscious in the stipe fight for about 20 minutes longer than any human should have to be, and the jds ko was the equivalent of wide arc swinging a baseball bat. the overeem knee was two knees from overeem.

if those two people fought a hundred times they'd each win 40 split decisions and would share 10 draws and the only way you'd be able to tell the fights apart would be the sponsors on the mat and maybe the type and quantity of trash in the cage (additional to the 340lbs that has to be in there). it was the most unnecessary rematch i've ever seen in my life except for maybe jacare / camozzi and at least that was an emergency replacement.
