I hung out with a friend tonight, we played Night in the Woods for about two hours. At first it was a depressive-neurotic-small town-USA sim and that was good, then somewhere along the way it also became an edgy-teen sim (despite the characters being young adults) and I started to feel sleepy. It was also around two a.m. by then, so maybe it's that. I dunno, I'm not jazzed enough about it to buy the game myself. It's hard to accept that the player character is a young adult when she's like half the height as anyone else. If that's due to some medical condition she has, it doesn't get mentioned in the game.

When does Phoenix Wright get less-than-really-good? I've just completed the case with Von Karma (the vampire-looking prosecutor) and it feels great.

So far the game hasn't forced me to look up a solution, a.k.a "how the hell was I supposed to figure that out" syndrome, which is probably the one thing that might break my enthusiasm if it happens too often too quickly.

After Nintendo Power moved from a scoring system out of a hundred to a scoring system out of five, there was a letter to the editors published a few months later, arguing that a scoring system out of a hundred was far more precise. If one basketball game gets an 88 and another gets 87, it's pretty clear which one we should buy!

Played another two hours of Night in the Woods, plot started to happen and my friend and I got into it, then the plot slowed but it was still okay. I think the game does mood really well, I do wish the main character was a little less edgy, she's one of those people who likes rain more than sunshine and I just can't get along with someone like that.

What I want is for video game developers to join hands and pick a single camera implementation, e.g. where the camera will turn if I press up and to the left on the right analog stick.

I don't even know what my camera preferences are without having a video game in front of me and a controller in my hands. Like, if you asked me right now, "You push left on the analog stick, where do you want the camera to go," or "You want the camera to point up, what direction do you want to be pointing the analog stick," I have no idea.

I was never able to beat the Nameless King in Dark Souls 3 when I first went through the game, and now, months later, I beat him on my first try with my current character. There's a greatshield that truly is great, it has 95% lightning resist, it trivializes the fight and I'm glad.
