He turned into the hit and the Jets reaped what they sowed. Don't care what happens to an AHL goon.

There's no reason to take the high road. Yall thought it was funny as hell when the Islanders called up the goon squad to start poo poo with the Penguins

Regarding potentially no 40 goal scorers: I'm fine with that on one hand.

On the other hand, a household name like Gretzky could potentially do wonders for the sport. That's something hockey sorely lacks compared to the other three major sports.

Hockey actively tries to stamp out "household name" guys, so does baseball.

The cover of this year's MLB video game is Ken Griffey Jr because he's the only fun baseball player of the last 30 years

I feel like baseball moved away from being star driven when it turned out that all the stars were juicing. I didn't pay attention to baseball when I was a kid, but still always heard about Mcgwire and Bonds hitting dingers.

Baseball is the absolute worst for "unwritten rules" bullshit and this has been the case for decades. Meanwhile in hockey you have opposing coaches and parents threatening 6-year-old Sidney Crosby because he's "too good".

As far as other leagues go, is the KHL basically considered the next best league in terms of quality/competition/money after the NHL?

The AHL doesn't compete money-wise but Jonathan Cheechoo wasn't good enough for that league 4 years ago

What a great fanbase. Steal all the jokes Flyers fans have made about the Penguins over the last 20 years, except at least the Flyers (a) have won the Stanley Cup twice, even if over 40 years ago, and (b) have been mostly successful in the 40 years since, including beating the Penguins 3 times in playoff series
