 They're basically seven dark versions of Jack. Each trained from childhood to kill one specific target.

 Boy, at the outset of the season I thought Jack was going to decide to not go back in time because all of the people he'd saved over 50 years would be wiped away. Guess he's going to stay in the future for Ashi now.
