Like the other guys have said, if you have the fortitude to play a player driven economy/full loot drop style game you'll enjoy this. I went full economy this beta: I haven't left Ft. Sterling since I ran into it 5 minutes after launch. Up to 10 years of Premium so far. Stalls own.

The problem with all the goon guilds wasn't the ability to equip the gear, even the casuals sorted that out with no issue. The problems began when folks couldn't replace their pretty new gear after PVP. Most goons were absolute poo poo at making money and in Beta 1 at least the guild "leadership" did absolute piss all to help with regearing players. Which is a shame really because that guild had a pretty good core of guys to play with, and it attracted a lot of casual players to come out and do poo poo.

For everyone who is actually still playing, what guilds did you end up in? How is the content in Red/Black? I've mostly messed around in the central and western Outlands continents with some red zone roaming for hostiles. Black Zones so far seem to be a good mix of empty, gatherers, and blobs. Red zones have consistent hostiles to farm, and chests/hellgates are pretty good hotspots for PVP. Its not as good as the old Lootbarrows days, but hopefully the new Reputation patch helps bring that back.

Being able to study finished products for extra fame makes it a lot easier. The gathering is a bit rougher than I remember, but still not just absolutely terrible.

Tackling is different now than pre-gallop days but I've figured out how to make it work now. Quarterstaff + Hammer combo is still gonna tackle the gently caress out of anyone and everyone short of maybe another quarterstaff with a high tier horse.

Trip report: with the reputation change today we red zone roamed for about 4 hours, netting about two dozen kills (all unflagged). AFAIK none of our guys went from +20,000 to the negative. Patch owns.
