がんばルビ!
Ignoring 2nd seasons of MHA, Rage of Bahamut, and Eccentric Family, which I'll definitely watch, I'm gonna try:

Granblue Fantasy - I'll give it a shot
Sakura Quest - PA Works has built up a lot of good will from me, though I'm unsure about the staff. Then again, Shirobako's staff wouldn't have stood out either so we'll see.
ATOM THE BEGINNING - Astro Boy is good. Staff seems good.
Clockwork Planet - Say what you will about No Game No Life, the writer does some decent world building, so this might be worth a look. Just don't be surprised about other unsavory aspects.
re:CREATORS - Seems good
Sakurada Reset - I'm game for another mystery series. (Ends up just watching the live action movies instead)
KABUKIBU! - Cute boys doing kabuki
Tsuki ga Kirei - Practical unknown directed by Seiji Kishi, yeah sure.
Alice to Zouroku - Looks like a feel good show, could be nice.

There's a few other adaptations I'm somewhat interested too, but more stuff from Spring that caught my eye than I was expecting.

So what was in the basement anyways? Was it some hosed up poo poo?

As I understand it, it was evidence that what's-his-face's dad came from a society beyond the walls, and Humanity isn't actually extinct out there after all. Also, there were photos there despite that technology not existing in the setting previously, suggesting that the outside civilization is more technologically advanced than the one inside the walls.

Oh poo poo I didn't see the eccentric family season 2. That will be the show of the season and please put sirens around it.

a plot-twist that made the setting even more like muv-luv

photos showing scientists in labcoats and poo poo, the setting is actually post-apocalyptic not fantasy

RE:Creators because for Aldnoah's faults, there was still talent involved and I think the studio definitely has it in them to make something rad. also giant robots

ID:0 because even though y'all are down on CG, I mean. Sidonia turned out great, Bubuki turned out great, this is probably animated by the same people? And it has the heads of Gundam 00 and Code Geass involved, and also it has this utterly WEIRD marketing that signifies there's something funky going on so that might be cool. also giant robots

Twin Angel Break is my 'why not try a magical girl thing' this time i guess

Warau Salesman has a neat premise and that particular brand of artstyle so count me in

i'll also consider Atom, Alice, Clockwork Planet, and Sin because why not

I'm the lead trumpet player, playing loud and high is all I know how to do.

Another season of sequels, a few gems in the rough, and a whole lot of ignorables.

i.e. A "good" season.

So what are going to be the good actiony shows, especially since a lot of people seem to be expecting disappointment for AOT2.

The first half of AOT S2 will include some of the raddest action in the manga. Apart from that, there's always Hero Academia and Rage of Bahamut. Maybe ID-0 as well.

Aside from the usual pile of sequels and spin-offs I actually don't know anything about any of these shows, so I'm just gonna watch the sequels to shows I liked and whatever else ends up being good.

Just the idea of watching Season 2 of Attack of Titan conjures up a feeling of exhausted disinterest though, so that's definitely not happening.

MHA and Natsume definitely.

Atom because lots of people say the manga is really good.

Berserk 2 because I hate myself.

Granblue because the first 2 eps on Crunchyroll weren't that bad, I'll give it a shot.

Not going to do Clockwork Planet. I tried twice to get into the manga (since the setting seemed cool), but each time I couldn't get over the MC's motivation to create a harem of realdolls to lust over. Just didn't click with me.

if it's predictable, shouldn't it.... not surprise and disappoint you? why were you expecting a different reveal from a story about people who live in a city isolated from the rest of the world? oftentimes a story isn't meant to le epic twist you. isn't the merit in what happens after?

a work having explicit sex doesn't make it porn, what makes it porn is how that sex is framed. i havent read the original but it runs in a josei magazine and seems to have some kind of plot and drama to it, which makes me think it's a drama where a lot of the drama comes from sex and sexual relationships, not a thing where people gently caress because loving is hot.

There will be lots of action in the new Natsume season, such as Natsume being attacked by a yokai and someone appearing suddenly to save him.

No this is not even close to being true. For one thing we originally were supposed to think the setting was post apocalyptic.

Here from someone who actually read the things.

Photos of the outside and a journal describing the outside were in the basement. Humanity was not extinct in the least beyond the walls. The Titans were actually just weapons that were supposed to harrass the wall people and exist in no other places. Other then that the situation is hard to explain but it's interesting.

Tir McDohl posted:

He give you false information. The truth is more interesting. Most fans think the Basement lived up to the hype.

No, I mean it's about 50% explicit sex scenes by page volume. If they want to play up other elements of the work, they're going to have to cut out a lot.

I don't have a problem with this, I'm just surprised. Maybe it's just ignorance on my part, but I've never seen a work like this get released as a TV show rather than an OVA.

We may be looking at a bold new era of titty anime.
