I have noticed two downtimes over the past couple of weeks. It's pretty lovely.

Kado has a cool premise, but wow the woman scientist with the Fisher Price tablet is annoying. I'll give it a 3 episode test, but none of the characters are very interesting. Feels like a blatant mashup of Shin Godzilla and Arrival so far.

I've watched 3 episodes of Kado and it still feels like a significantly inferior, more boring recreation of Arrival.

ViggyNash posted:Kado, so far, seems to be a sociopolitical drama about hubris. Shin Godzilla also came out last year and is a better story about that. I liked episode 0 of Kado because the negotiator is a cool dude, but the stuff about alien contact is just a snooze fest for me. brainwrinkle fucked around with this message at 03:51 on Apr 22, 2017 |

Feels like a lot of the good shows this season aren't on Crunchyroll

I hope the heroine gets to pilot the mech in RE:Creators. The show hits a great balance of self-aware absurdity and serious developments. I find myself sympathizing with the villains because they have reasonable perspectives and no infodump characters.

I like that the main dude has pretty much given up on saving the world and just wants to make some doomed people's lives better The designs are extremely boring and parts of the story are poorly explained, so I have pretty low expectations. But I enjoy the characters and like each episode, so I'll stick with it.
