Crunchyroll's technical response to the video quality fiasco. https://medium.com/ellation-tech/improving-video-quality-for-crunchyroll-and-vrv-dd587261a364#.x0jevlwzz It sounds like they really messed up the encoding settings and did not catch it until encoded their entire catalog. They have been switching simulcast videos after a couple of days until they fixed the issue. It seems that the issue has been there for at least 6 months. Now that the public got wind of the issue, they are scrambling to try to fix it.

Rumors of a new Gundam being announced on March 24th. It is called Mobile Suit Gundam Twillight Axis and will be directed by Se Jun Kim. There looks to be a new anime streaming service in the US and it looks like the site is down due to capacity. They have Legend of the Galactic Heroes exclusively there and are charging $3.99/month and are releasing it episodically with 4 episodes a week. https://www.hidive.com/tv/legend-of-the-galactic-heroes Wonder whether this is Sentai's attempt of a standalone streaming service. Seeing Sentai's previous work, the subs are probably not good.
