Uchouten Kazoku was my pick for Best of 2013, so it's hard not to be excited about the sequel.

nielsm posted:By the way isn't Tsuki ga kirei/The Moon is Beautiful a quote from some famous novel? And usually interpreted as the character meaning "I love you" or so? Something like that.

I think what puzzles me the most about Tsugumomo right now is why they released vol 19 this week, instead of waiting a month or two. Its release schedule has been pretty slow at around 2 volumes a year this far, which means there's no way they'll have vol 20 ready for a 1 cour anime starting in April. Does this mean it's double cour? Or do they just not give a poo poo about manga sales anymore.

Everything Burrito posted:is it this thing? Yep. The latest volume has an anime announcement strip where the characters are all excited about finally seeing their sex scenes animated, but then the protagonist notes that it'll probably be covered in white beams anyway.

Hrrm, I've read the first volume of the original Sagrada Reset light novel series, but found it too flat to keep up with, so I hoped the anime would spice it up somehow. Turns out they somehow made it even less interesting. The author actually finished this book series 5 years ago (at 7 volumes total), so it's a bit puzzling that it was picked up for an adaptation. And not just anime, there's a double live-action movie feature as well: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QpKGEHI0Wuw However, the author's more recent work Kaidantou is what made me interested in Sagrada in the first place, because it's excellent. Great atmosphere, story and characters, about a bunch of sad people stuck on a mystical island ruled by a witch (?). Let's hope that gets adapted. Although given people's reactions to Sagrada, it's pretty unlikely now.

Is there some kind of rule about misspelling Renai Bokki? Anyway, I thought it was surprisingly funny, even if it's hard to believe the gimmick can hold up for more than an episode or two. Clockwork Planet was frighteningly ugly, with lumpy, inconsistent faces, in spite of it being the first episode. Tons of tropes that made me lose all hope for it ever being enjoyable. Didn't know it was by the No Game No Life author, but it doesn't change much. It also seemed to have some of the worst sound design I can remember. Kabukibu was pretty nice, if only because I have a thing for that whole "let's start a club and gather unwilling members for this obscure activity!" Less gay harem than I expected, given the potential of the setting. Tsuki ga Kirei is hideous to look at, but I'm a sucker for the mood in the writing, with embarrassed teenagers fluffing about.

Wark Say posted:What did they do with Katanagatari (when it originally aired, because if I don't misremember, the re-airing chowed down on the noitaminA block)? Originally it only aired one episode a month, AFAIK, so it probably had a special 1h block. Edit: This avatar is creeping me out.
