I'd say there's not necessarily a correlation between rewatchability and quality, or at least that it's not a barometer. I've rewatched 'Conan the Barbarian' a lot more times than 'Casino' but I'm under no illusions about which is the better film. The World's End is more ambitious than either Shaun or Hot Fuzz, which are both incredibly well done executions of extremely thematically and narratively simple stories.

Personally, I wouldn't recommend 'The World's End' as a standalone movie, but if you've been following 'Shaun of the Dead' and 'Hot Fuzz' (and 'Paul' even) for years, then you'd find the TWE a bit more enjoyable because, for Pegg and Frost and the fans, it feels like a swan song. (no pun intended) Still, I found 'Shaun' and 'Fuzz' more memorable than the other films.

I feel like TWE would have been better if Pegg and Frost had their casting swapped round.

Nah, that would have felt too much like Shawn or Hot Fuzz, I like the twist of Nick Frost being the responsible one and Simon Pegg being the fuckup, they both do very well in their roles. TWE is probably my least favorite Wright movie, but that's like picking between my children. He's my favorite director, Scott Pilgrim is my favorite movie, and the others both make the top 25 easily. World's End played better on a second viewing for me (like all of his movies), but it's still not as good as the others. I'm trying not to hype myself up too much for this movie, despite the fact that I couldn't have thought up a more appealing movie if I tried.

The World's End DEFINITELY took a second viewing to fully appreciate for me as well. I'm a bicoastal Canadian so Scott Pilgrim has always been close to my heart, but the level of subtle, very careful weaving of utterly hilarious things into TWE makes it my fave of the Cornetto movies.

Okay, I've rewatched Casino three times over the years, to show it to people who've not seen it and I know they wouldn't sit down and watch a three hour operatic hyper violent gangster movie unless I supervised them. I've also rewatched the terrible Dolph Lundgren vehicle 'Red Scorpion' three times because it's a perfectly acceptable bit of nonsense to have on in the background, or to zone out to while hungover.

The world's end disrespect in here is disgusting. It's probably his most immaculately crafted work, followed by Scott Pilgrim. Hoping baby driver continues his streak of great films.

I agree with everyone, the world's end is best viewed after hot fuzz and Shaun of the Dead. Tropes are built up in the first two movies and changed around for the third.

Yeah I don't get the extreme, raging hatred for World's End. At absolute worst, all I can say is that I didn't laugh quite as much as I did during Shaun of the Dead or Hot Fuzz. But Edgar Wright himself has said he never really wanted to do comedy movies, his movies just wound up being funny because he's a funny guy and that's how he writes and directs. And most of the comedy of his movies comes from timing and editing. There are actual clever moments and jokes too, but the smash cuts and framing and comedic timing do a lot to add to his unique style and the humor of his movies.

Shaun of the Dead is overrated. The entire movie is justified by the existence of the Queen segment but a lot of the rest just isn't that funny. Hot Fuzz is sublime, though.

Lump me in with the "haters" of The World's End, though I don't really hate it, it was just disappointing compared to Hot Fuzz. There is good stuff in there for sure but it didn't really come together for me. I do hate Scott Pilgrim and think it's candy coated garbage for babies, though!
