I'd probably buy way more merch at shows if they took cards, but even bigger bands I've seen haven't taken cards, only cash, and I rarely ever carry cash on me. The last show I bought a shirt at was probably The Cure last year and that was because they had a card reader, but it was also a sold out show at a big arena with multiple merch kiosks. In fact, I went to a show the other night and actually had $20 cash on me for once, so I intended to buy a shirt, but the shirts were $25 so I didn't.

dk2m posted:spotify and soundcloud have changed the game for me. some of the best music is coming out of some guy with 100 followers on soundcloud that makes music for fun. gently caress the label execs and distribution channels having a say in anything creatively.
