I still buy CD's, among other collecting methods...

Of course I just rip them to FLAC right away and put them on a shelf somewhere but it's nice to have a big pretty collection of album art. And I can find great deals on used CDs sometimes.

Hi-Res files (24 bit/96 khz) are higher, but you could make a good case that the gains are negligible for listening.

mp3s should've died a long time ago though, imo.
