absurd ratio of churches to population, many of which are newly built, huge and well maintained. meanwhile many homes, public buildings and infrastructure are deteriorating to the point of being unsafe. most new buildings are pole barns, half the businesses on the main street are consignment shops and there is a high traffic bridge that was built in the 30s
