Friends is the best sitcom. It gets bad in the later seasons but before then it's pretty good. The characters are likable even though they're mostly idiots. Ross is the most cryngeworthy person on television but that's why he's good. He could give Larry David a run for his money. I can't remember a sitcom where the characters aren't fuckups to some extent so that's not really valid criticism of the show. It's dumb when you apply any real world logic to it but that's the point. I have no idea how anybody could take the show at face value.
