Fighting like beavers.
Baseball and hockey have better rivalries because they tolerate fighting as a response to dirty play, throwing at the other pitcher's head, etc. The sports don't get their artificial bravado from the media; the players provide it. The stupidest sight in sport is two bullpens and their fat bullpen coaches hauling rear end to the batters box, so they can adopt threatening poses in their tight pants and fancy socks. It's more effective than any Hot Take a journalist can provide.
