That CG is really, really awful

I mean it was distractingly bad, what on earth were they thinking

Like I said, that is totally something they'd fix for the blurays.

I don't think so. I feel it was active choice, they've been using CGI for a lot of titan stuff this season.

The writing for this episode wasn't very well done. They wasted far too much time on Ymir and Eren monologuing about obvious things.

There was, however, one important new thing that we did learn: Christa is important to Bert and Ernie's titan tribe in some capacity beyond just "Reiner likes her".

It really didn't offer that much new content to think about.

You were supposed to be learning about Bert and Ernie, not about anything else. You're also given a glimpse into the true nature of what's going on with this hidden faction.

They also added a scene that's way further down the line in the manga, which was a very cool touch I felt.

This episode breaks significantly from the previous episodes and may end up setting things up to rush if not skip altogether an entire arc from the manga in a future third season (which would likely take up an entire cour if it was played out akin to the manga). Not sure how I feel about that. The arc was divisive, but important.

There is literally no way they can skip the next arc after this. Don't be silly.

There are too many things that are far too important to skip in that arc that leads into everything that comes after that would make it impossible to do so and I'll be honest I'm not even sure how you could believe or even entertain that notion at all.

On the 0.001 chance they do that, that would be incredibly loving dumb because nothing the characters do or say would make sense, just by virtue of how many actions that arc setup.
