Both plot threads involved tricking someone into changing out a battery. Chuck was deceiving Ernie as much as Mike was deceiving whoever was tracking him. Sort of annoyed that I get to be worried about Gene all season now. I doubt he died but he's probably sick or something.

Blazing Ownager posted:I'm not sure about state law but in Calfornia, not only could it not be used like that, Chuck could literally be brought up on charges for a concealed recording. In some states it'd be fine, only one party in a conversation needs to consent to recording, in this case Chuck, and I think New Mexico is one of those places and this was looked up last season...yeah, and in fact with an in-person conversation consent isn't necessary at all in New Mexico BUT this is from a law from 2012, not 2002, which I'm having a difficult time finding information for. Horrible Lurkbeast posted:Anyone feels like theorising about Gene fainting? Like I said, I'm worried about it, but I think it was probably stress but possibly could be something like cancer. In which case he knows what to do.

This is getting painful. If anyone is still confused about the gas caps and tracking devices here's a handy guide. There were 4 tracking devices in the episode, one in the job car, one in Mike's regular car, the one Mike bought, and the fresh one the goons at the end swapped with the "dead battery" one. Edit:^^ God. loving. Dammit...efb...

^^Dude, promo stuff is considered spoilers. Anyway something I didn't see mentioned here was that second thing Mike got from Chuck's, Jimmy seemed surprised and excited about it, I think Mike said he found it in Chuck's address book in his desk, so probably just contact information. Could be someone Jimmy will use as a character witness or maybe something that could be the location of the tape.

As sweet as watching this build-up is I still don't see how it'll help Jimmy not get disbarred given how dismissive they've been about discussing Chuck's condition.

Yep, I forgot about the past actions Jimmy took to play into his brother's delusion. That worked perfectly.

I wonder if Chuck cashed Howard's check before he died.
