I think the Leafs lose in 5, would be pleased if it went to 6 and really just don't want them to get embarrassed if nothing else. I'm not very confident they won't but playoffs are weird so who knows. Go Leafs, Sharks, Caps (after they beat the Leafs), Preds and Oilers. Boo Habs just for the hell of it.

The Capitals are very good. They've got a lot of the right storylines going... the smart move at the deadline to get Shattenkirk, the young guns coming into their own, Justin Williams doing his whole veteran thing, a goaltender who can steal games. A pretty great penalty kill. I am predicting at least one game lost principally to a dumb thing Brooks Orpik does. I can also see Tom Wilson murdering a guy, but that could be strategically useful.

Kenny Alberts sucks. I'll grant he can competently report the play and has an inoffensive voice, but has the personality of a rock. Shoulda used Pat Foley.  NBC's commentary group is garbage, regardless of the sport.

the other game, they swapped Louie and Cassie and it was fantastic. Louie was down between the benches where he belongs, because then there's a chance down there he can get hit in the face with a puck.

Yeah that's exactly how I feel, it's frustrating to hear the play get miscalled but Romanuk has no excuse. What bothers me most about Romanuk is how often he veers into armchair GM/coach territory when filling in space.

I don't know how you guys overlooked it, but seeing Dave Strader a) calling games again and b) calling playoff games again genuinely makes me happy.  e- Also, the list posted in that tweet is apparently Game 1 only and broadcasters are subject to change. Gord Miller said he and Ferraro were doing NYR/MTL 1-4 and then getting like NSH/CHI. Additionally, local blackouts of NBC telecasts are apparently gone in all markets except Boston and Pittsburgh, so you have your choice of NBC or your local RSN. Sharks have the "almost-made-it" chip on the shoulder and the Oilers have the next-next-one. McDavid is going to be playing all out, and that alone is worth the time to watch (before his legs give out)
