Kilza posted:Honestly, you should be hopeful. The Flames are pretty much the best match-up the Ducks could have asked for, given the Ducks dominance over the Flames over the past few seasons, especially at home. Providing there isn't some serious injuries the Ducks should have an easy time getting to the second round. Two words: Randy Carlyle.

Loqieu posted:The Flames were done in by a lucky deflection tonight, however they haven't looked good against the Ducks so far at all. Maybe it changes once they get home, especially since they're a young team, but eventually they need to win in Anaheim. Stinks since they liked so good going into the postseason. The Flames need a bounce, or a break, or for something to just go right without having to scratch and claw for it. How many of the Ducks' goals have deflected in off of Flames defenders?

JoelJoel posted:Crazy idea: call lots of penalties. It'll increase scoring and if teams want a competitive edge, they can stop doing stupid poo poo that causes them to take penalties. Doesn't even need to be a lot more. I knocked together some numbers a while back that showed that, with one more power play per team per game and a similar league-wide conversion rate, scoring would likely go up to roughly where it was 10 years ago.

NHL refs are garbage, Edmonton is no good, and Kesler is a rat. All we need is for Burrows to bite someone and/or pull someone's hair this afternoon, and all will be right with the world again.

CBC just showed a Lucic interview where he got pretty upset about the call on the tying goal last night. Here's the clip if you missed it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9IiFKbujhvo
