High skill vs. low skill labor is also analogous to the value invested in discovering a diamond mine in his example. Even though it takes roughly the same amount of time to mine a diamond as it is to mine, like, some coal, it takes a lot longer to find the diamond mine, which is part of the value. Similarly, high skills take a long time to "find." You have to discover them through study, diligence, time spent doing the actions etc.
