More relevantly, Xander Mobus was also Dagda in SMT4: Apocalypse. Dude's a relatively new face for English VAs, but with the Smash 4 Announcer/Master and Crazy Hands and the P5 MC under his belt, his career's off to a pretty solid start!

Buying weapons in these games is often kind of a waste of cash since they don't do anything other than influence normal attacks, which you really should only use to hit weaknesses anyway. Very rarely there will be some kind of perk to a weapon that will make it kind of worth it, but that's really, really uncommon.

Same deal. You're only ever using them to hit weaknesses and knock enemies down, so why bother spending tens of thousands of yen so you can do an extra 20 damage on knock down? The best guns don't come from Untouchable anyway, but I'm sure Arist will get into that much, much later.

And what about armor? The stuff you find in palaces is useful, I guess, if you sacrifice time to get it washed.

Wait, does this mean you don't buy weapons and guns at all?

That's almost 80% of my money.

Armor can be important to pick up and update every now and again, but if you're never getting hit, you probably won't need to bother. :getin:

The stuff you pick up in palaces is usually enough for me to get by, and yeah, I don't actually buy things from Untouchable. That money usually ends up going to the clinic so I can keep a full stock of healing items.

I coulda sworn the "you feel as though your bond will deepen" message has been in since at least vanilla P4 because I remember seeing it and I've only played maybe an hour of P4G. It might've been in P3FES, even!

Also I got bored one day and looked up how long it would take to get from Yongen-Jaya to Shibuya. Yongen isn't actually a real place, but it's based on a neighborhood named Sangen-Jaya. Assuming Yongen is in the same place Sangen is, Maaku's first train ride of the day is only about 4 minutes long; Sangen-Jaya is only one stop away from Shibuya station, according to Google Maps, so either the books you can read are incredibly short, or you're one hell of a speed reader!

Ehhh, I think I'm more a fan of the version with lyrics. We've actually already heard it in the LP, for the little prologue section where Joker gets busted in the casino, but I think I like the vocal version more because the song itself is like played 3 notes lower than the instrumental version, and I think the lower pitch sounds a lot more dramatic. Also, the bass riff in the bridge between verse and chorus in the vocal version sounds a lot more pronounced and it's really, really good.

Rainy days means there are less people in the bathhouse, so you can stay longer to get either another point of charm or a point of guts instead.

Also, slight correction, going from Sojiro 3->4 is the one that takes a really long time. The only thing that gates you from going 2->3 is making coffee, so Maaku's all set on that front, barring the requisite hang out point gate.

And just another fun fact, apparently all the party members have unused lines where they shout "LET ME EXPLAIN!" just like Sojiro. Maaku too, for some reason! It's kinda cute and I kinda wish they weren't unused lines!

The standard nav-app rule of "you need a name before you can figure out where to find a target" applies to Mementos; it's why Morgana was insistent on picking a forum post with a full name before they went into Mementos. I assume the nav allows the thieves to even pinpoint the distortions in the first place.

Why does everyone think I'm going to get in trouble?

Monjayaki is a dish pretty similar to Okonomiyaki. For those who don't know what that is either, Okonomiyaki is sort of a grilled pancake made mostly of cabbage, batter, and whatever else the customer wants. This can include meat, like beef or pork, vegetables, like corn, or even potato chips. The batter in Okonomiyaki is pretty much just a binder to hold everything together while it cooks. Monja is similar; it's also cooked on a grill and made of mostly cabbage and batter, but there's more batter in Monja and it's a lot runnier. It's like a liquid Okonomiyaki and it has a consistency that's kinda like melted cheese. People also tend to eat it right off the grill with tiny spatulas, whereas people can just cut up and eat Okonomiyaki off their own plates with a fork or chopsticks or whatever.

Garu vs Zan is weird. Most games in the series, like main titles, Devil Survivor and even Tokyo Mirage Sessions, use Zan, but Persona's stuck to Garu for some reason. There's no meaningful difference either.

Trivia time: The face on the decoy treasure is made up of four different Hiragana characters, He, No, Mo, and Ji (へ,の,も,じ). Fittingly, it's known as the Henohenomoheji face and it's often drawn by school children, used as the face of scarecrows and I think it might be kind of a general troll face? I'll try to approximate it, but no guarantees, what with forums formatting and all. I'm also not going to be able to draw the Ji character because the long stroke is used as the face's outline and the two short strokes are cheek marks, which I can't really do via text.

I wouldn't use the MC primarily as a healer, but it wouldn't be a bad idea to use some of his turns pinch healing if you really need it. It wouldn't be a bad idea to get Media on at least a few Personas so you can swap out Morgana and have everyone else pile on the damage for this fight.

It's definitely intentional. There's one fight lateish in the game with a hardcoded amount that gets spit out from the confuse trick for very specific reasons that I'm sure Arist will cover when we get there. Plus, the game was released in Japan 6 months before the rest of the world, you'd think that if Atlus really didn't want the trick in the game, they'd patch it out and the localized version would never have it.

I kinda just assume the palace masters know on some deep, subconscious level that what they're doing is wrong, but instead of feeling remorse for it, they revel in the fact that they're getting away with it. This doesn't really hold up for some examples that we haven't seen, so I don't know if this is really what's going on.
