I actually don't hate this scene? It's not good writing and definitely lazy to use cardboard caricatures of gay men like so, but it's hilarious that all three options are amused indifference/schadenfreude(/encouragement?). Morgana doesn't even pretend to give a drat about what's happening. This scene has potential, and it's rather disappointing they opted to go with the cheap punchline that isn't likely to go anywhere satisfying (if this even comes up again). It would be comical if Ryuji popped up tomorrow showing off a unicorn tattoo on his rear end or something while raving about his adventurous night, but at least this scene is brief if it's going to be boring.

This is so bad because it's contrived, and the placement isn't helping the disjointed pacing. And from how everyone else is talking, I feel like it's going to get worse before it gets better. I don't have a great feeling about whoever it looks like is running around with Morgana now, because if he found a friend? Great: now he has an audience to save face for, if they don't outright encourage his shittery. Five bucks says he just peeled off our next party member.

I dunno, I cut Teddie a bit of slack for being a naive kid who learns a bit too much about intro human culture from two teenage boys. Morgana actually makes me view Teddie more favorably in retrospect, because at least he was never as much of a dick to his team as Morgana has been.

Hell, Teddie got this poo poo over with in one boss fight. How much of our time is Morgana going to waste being a prick with this tantrum?

It's obvious how we tricked Akechi and how the room was manipulated, but what I'd really like to know is how the gently caress Futaba expects Sae to get Joker out of there. This scene was redeemable. Between Ryuji's antics, Yusuke's callback, and Futaba's participation, though - drat near the worst setup possible.

It's tasteless in isolation and just bad writing in the game's context, but that's not really anything new for this game.

I can't tell what this is trying to be. It almost seems like it's sincere, but then there's these completely deadpan moments where Kawakami goes "wow, this is hosed up, huh?" and then it's right back to normal.

It's charming to see Kawakami relax - authority figures like teachers are rarely depicted outside their professional lives and it's interesting to see her unfiltered. Her confidant was all about how her position as a teacher - as that role expects her to be - conflicted with her personal life, and you still see where those two clash in this scene. If it stopped there, as a platonic scene, then it would be a nice bit of mundane to break up the batshit insanity of her confidant.

It does not. This is a scene in the context of her dating a student, which is obviously unacceptable. I could even go "ugh :japan:

" if they dated after he moved out of her professional influence, but she just jumps right into it. She escapes one blackmail situation, only to immediately put herself at risk of another one? Amazing! :psyduck:

You're giving just the right amount of presentation for the material that's already there, really. All you've got to do is call it out for what it is.
