Without getting into the fine details (since NGDBSS already did) this is absolutely false. Poise is quite useful in DS2, especially when you're fighting multiple enemies. Might not do much for Geop though given his more reactive play style.

I've seen a lot of people say this and...no, it's agape as in an agape maw which the ring functions as, sucking up all your souls. It's got nothing to do with love.

I find that using a bonfire ascetic on a bonfire improves that bonfire's aesthetics quite a bit.
