marktheando posted:Here’s the Sun’s take (in England) Hissing, hackles lifting, the chicken's head rose. Boris pulled back. Its claws digging into stiff dead flesh, the chicken slowly turned to face him. It cocked its head, making its comb flop, its wattles sway. "Shoo," Boris heard himself whisper. There wasn't enough light, and besides, the side of its beak was covered with gore, so he couldn't tell if it had the dark spot. But he didn't need to see it. "Blimey, help me," he prayed under his breath. The bird let out a slow chicken cackle. It sounded like a chicken, but in his heart he knew it wasn't. In that instant, he completely understood the concept of a chicken that was not a chicken. This looked like a chicken, like most of the Mud People's chickens. But this was no chicken. This was communism manifest.

Bercow was a Tory. when an MP becomes Speaker, they technically become Independent and their seat is not challenged in elections by the major parties (the Tories might this time) Bercow used to be hard-right but he moderated over time to the point where there were rumors he would defect to Labour. he was elected Speaker when Gordon Brown was PM with a large majority and they had to have a Tory that time because tradition Tories have been trying to get rid of him for a long time so they could replace him with a stooge

assuming boris loses the next election badly and brexit is revoked without a referendum, what stops the tories of 2024 or 2029 from running on a brexit manifesto, winning a majority government with a plurality under FPTP and exiting without a deal?

So basically Boris is literally just playing normal loving poker. boris is playing 3 dimensional strip poker with a journalist's wife

corbyn did not want this. it was forced on him by the membership and his cabinet. he wanted to run on a soft brexit as he had in 2017 the 2019 position was simple. anyone saying it was too complicated was just playing dumb

The Leave-supporting Labour voters in the north who cared that much about racism didn't switch to the Brexit party or the Tories. They targeted 'Workington Man' fixated on political correctness gone mad and who probably had never met anyone Jewish or seen a synagogue. It wasn't direct like 'he hates Jews, I'm a Tory now' This bus was targeted at one of those seats and even though it implies Corbyn is a child molester it conspicuously does not mention anti-Semitism at all: marktheando posted:Yeah so many Corbyn anti-semitism stories were illustrated with pictures of him next to scary looking Muslims.
