If corbyn had been true to brexit he could have been well on his way to ruling a British Socialist Republic unshackled by the regulations of the capitalist EU by now

Atrocious Joe posted:Lenin This is the best possible reply the British Government could give to a question that the non-Communist British labour “leaders", who are captives to bourgeois prejudices, are afraid even to ask, namely, which class the terror is directed against—the oppressed and exploited, or the oppressors and exploiters? Is it a question of the “freedom” of the capitalists to rob, deceive and dupe the working people, or of the “freedom” of the toilers from the yoke of the capitalists, the speculators and the property-owners? The labour “leaders” who pursue a non-Communist policy are 99 per cent representatives of the bourgeoisie, of its deceit, its prejudices. In conclusion, I want to thank you once again, comrades, for having sent your delegation here. Despite the hostility of many of the delegates towards the Soviet system and the dictatorship of the proletariat, and although many of them are in the grip of bourgeois prejudices, their acquaintance with Soviet Russia will inevitably accelerate the collapse of capitalism throughout the world. Atrocious Joe posted:If we're laying our Cyberpunk 2077 fan timelines, be sure to include Macron crowning himself and declaring a new French Empire I said it before and I'll say it again, Macron will strive to ensure that Brexit will happen because it would mean that he controls the primary trade routes to the independent and economically crippled UK, and the money he will generate from that will be the money he uses to propel France economically, and then usurp Germany as the head of the EU so that he can reshape the entire continent into a new French Empire

gradenko_2000 posted:Idiot Election on Chud Island I support renaming the UK to Chud Island. A lot of people call it Paedo Island, but nowadays it gets confusing if that name refers to Britain or Little St. James, and both of these unfairly take the title away from the original Paedo Island, Pitcairn

The Dutch ship Cornelis Vrolijk, registered in Caterham, owns 23% of the entire UK quota. “Slipper skippers” sold their quotas abroad – it was easier to put their feet up than to fish. Could Gove seize it back post-Brexit? No more than Jeremy Corbyn could seize back rail or energy companies from foreign owners without hefty compensation. It’s not prevented by the EU, but by basic property law. Oh no, who could have foreseen this?

'Twas the night before Brexit, and all through Westminster not a lord was awake, even Armstrong of Ilminster. But in Wetherspoons gathered a boisterous throng, hoping to hear that Big Ben would bong Nigel Farage slept sound, didn't rustle, knowing he never would return to Brussels. but knowing the EU was destined to fail, I had just settled down a for a warm pint of ale When out in the street there arose such a clatter, I stumbled outside to see what was the matter. And there just before the pub's grimy exit I beheld a wonder: red, white, and blue Brexit! The effects took time, not a matter of days, but months upon years, and with endless delays and the sum consequences truly insane almost too many for one person to name There was private insurance for the disease stricken, pensioners crying, and chlorine-soaked chicken! Tariffs, inflation, and Scots looking violent, a lack of farm labour, a united Ireland! ehh, no time to finish the rest of this before brexit, you get the idea

many EU countries allow permanent residency, which is often effectively the same as dual nationality (without voting rights)
