Full length HQ versions of The Dance Electric and Computer Blue? I am in.

This Deliverance EP is alright. I Am is fairly rough, sounds more like 3rd Eye Girl than anything.

Wow, are the prince.org forums populated by the biggest bunch of whingers or what? If it's not complaints that the PR deluxe edition has too many songs they already have as 12th generation cassette tape bootlegs and is therefore worthless, it's complaints about how many discussion threads there are and who has the right to post news. What an utterly baffling place.

The bootleg thing is particularly funny, because they alternate between boasting that they already have the bootlegs of music that's getting an official release, and arguing about whether it's ok for the record companies to release the stuff because Prince must have had a reason to vault it. Apparently you can have it both ways in their world!

I know that any artist's death is generally followed by gross commercialisation, but that seems particularly perverse considering how private he was. How very odd.

Vince MechMahon posted:

Is there going to be a good, complete, vinyl version of the new Purple Rain release?

There's a remastered vinyl coming out this month, but I'm pretty sure it's the album only. None of the additional stuff.

The Prince org users are complete wankers. If they have a bootleg of something that apparently means that an official version missing 20 years of tape hiss is worthless.

The vault stuff is really good. 'Love and Sex' is fantastic. And the remastering has removed some of the mud that was on the original version, you can definitely hear a little more detail in particular areas.

Checked a few places today and they were completely out of the Purple Rain expanded edition or the vinyl. Only the standard 2CD set and picture disc were left. Either this thing is more popular than I expected it to be, or Warners were real stingy with stock.

According to one store they're expecting 12 more copies of the CD+DVD set on Wednesday. Guess I'm waiting. :(

'Wrecka stow' is the dumbest joke ever, but it's kind of sweet how much Prince loved it.
