The guys whole thing was that he was this awkward weirdo who would bumble through life messing things up. I think to start with he accidentally revealed his home address and the place that he worked and 4chan trolled the poo poo out of him. When he realised how much money it was making him he played up to it and constantly revealed where he was going and things began to snowball out of control. The last thing I read about him was that he "called out" some gang near him that his thousands of sweaty followers on 4chan had "trolled" and people were predicting it was going to end horribly.

He basically invented the hyperactive smash cut style of Youtube, the new show is kinda dry. It's got some great moments here and there like when he does his rants about the poltiical implication of whatever science he's on about, or any of the documentary field stuff, but I don't think Netflix has a team that can make a "night show" style program.

if you're going through the effort to film and edit a video that's just an editorial which would be more easily produced and distributed as a blog post then imo you're wasting your time and the time of others. at least leverage the visual medium to create some interesting imagery that isn't just rage comics or a cartoon banana in a fedora talking about jews
