I removed every mode except versus from my ranked match finder thing. Swap was the last to stick around but when I have to play puyo at all it makes me even more likely to lose to someone with a rating way lower than mine. I haven't started dodging players I know will beat me though, that would be lame.

Yeah but that requires, like, looking more than one step ahead. I can do a 5-chain on purpose but still haven't figured out how to transition to the second floor. Also I always get impatient and set it off when it's only a 3-chain. At which point my opponent has already built their 6

Oh I thought that's all puyo was in the first place. Longest (fastest) chain wins, no matter what. I guess I got that impression because this was my first puyo game.
