whats the thing in modern movies where the motion is smooth and makes it look SOOOOOOO cheap bring back motion blur or whatever it is to not make it look so fuckin cheap

akadajet posted:are you talking about motion interpolation on tvs? nah not a tv effect. its part of the video i think its a digital camera thing? idk next time I see it ill note it. it just loses the cinematic effect and immediately makes the scene look cheaply filmed. i was surprised because it was a big budget flick

the rendering software i use makes hdr files coz it doesn't just render to screen space or whatever it's bad to the rear end

real super hdr should mean that there is bright poo poo in the frame and also dark poo poo and in an objective sense all the detail is visible but like in real life the dark poo poo is imperceptible because the bright poo poo is so bright and the dynamic range of your eyeballs is exceeded but i bet it's nothing good like that
|
# ¿ May 18, 2017 04:13 |

like if u held your hand over the bright stuff u could see the dark stuff but if u don't u are blinded by it

pagancow posted:You use less bloom with HDR displays than on non HDR displays since you're trying to simulate something really bright, instead of just making something really bright i know what you're talking about, i'm saying that i'll be disappointed if hdr tvs have a dynamic range that doesn't exceed what our eyes can deal with

pagancow posted:10K nits isn't enough to exceed human vision for DR. Your eyes have an iris that can open and close giving you over 22 stops of dynamic range. so what youre saying is that hdr is trash and we're gonna hev to wait for hdr2.0
