When you picked up the City Crest, I heard Rucks in my head for a second.

Though I think having a storyteller going would probably a) not work in a Metroidvania and b) ruin the mood.

I really love the image of coming up to a cheerful sign that says "well done, you're almost there" just short of a collapsed bridge over a deadly chasm.

"ancient city kept going through sacrifice" is honestly a little too close to Dark Souls for comfort.

Which game is about killing an opera singer, Parasite Eve?

It's certainly one of them.

It seems like... the Dreamers? It seems like they're aware something is going wrong but they're compelled not to fix it.

It's interesting to see how games are trying to adapt to the age of Kickstarter.

That said, yeah, giant fields of ash are just... Dark Souls as gently caress? I can't think of better words.

The village at the nest's heart. Yeah, those big ol' web orbs actually looked kind of civilized, or at least calm.

Given how Paul Bunyan was kind of a Manifest Destiny dude, he probably logged an rear end-ton of railroad ties at some point.

The White Lady feels kind of different from everyone else we've talked to, and I think I've finally worked out why. She comes across as completely... unguarded. She's talking to us like we're not even there, which is kind of good and kind of bad, I think? But I don't get the feeling that she's holding anything back.

The alternate way to beat the end boss for the true end boss reminded me of one of the troidVanias more than anything.

I suppose it's a good thing for all concerned that in the end, Hollow Knight Jr. was neither the wind nor the sun.
