How are Li-Ming and Sylvanas doing in the current game? They're my favorite heroes to queue with but it's hard to tell if I'm doing the right thing. For Li I usually go full Arcane Orb for megadamage and with Sylvanas I take all her quiver talents + her slippery escapes like Will of the Forsaken and the one that gives you movement speed whenever you spam arrow.

I don't know why they never went with a matchmaking system like, everybody gets 2 points. Conventional tanks get 2 tank points. Hybrid tank-assassins get 1 tank point and 1 assassin point, and so on for every hero. When you queue up, teams are all matched to be roughly equal in their distribution of points.

Johanna is a solid tank pick in an uncoordinated group because she can initiate while also being very difficult to kill on her own, so the rest of your team can completely abandon you and you'll still probably get out alive.

After experimenting with a number of different warriors I think that to me Johanna is probably the quintessential tank. Like, there are tanks with better initiation abilities (Anub'arak) and there are tanks with better inherent crowd-control (Diablo, Muradin), and I suppose there are even tanks that are more resilient (Chen), but simply in terms of someone who creates an area around themselves and says that if you step into that zone you're gonna have a bad time, it feels like Johanna is the best at simply being this walking impediment to everything the enemy team might want to do.

Johanna is good because she doesn't require much coordination to perform her role well. You can dive right into an enemy team, and even if your allies totally abandon you, she's slippery enough to escape unharmed most of the time. There's also generally no bad time to use her abilities, they're all effective for team fights, wave clear, whatever. The only thing she can't really do is surprise you with damage.

I mostly solo queue for draft and Sylvanas seems like a pretty well-balanced pick. She can push, she can kill, and she can escape all to varying degrees depending on a few talent choices. Very good force multiplier on team fights but can also succeed alone. I think she's a safe choice when you don't know what you're getting and just want to be effective.

Li-Ming's restore on cooldown and some of Illidan's kit remind me of Blood Seeker from dota. I like his gank playstyle much more than invis/stealth gankers. Your entire purpose is to eat heroes through sheer power, you can smell their spilled blood and live for the hunt. The second they choose to flee is the second they choose to die. Li-Ming is more Tiny-like, you can smear heroes if you land all your skills. If you do, you are ready to turn another hero into jelly in 10 seconds or whatever. Talents that give you a huge boost on hero kills are a big gamble, but worth it if you can chain hero kills together.

Li-Ming is especially good for QM where teams do you the courtesy of getting themselves killed off one by one.

I think the payloads stay up for too long on Hanamura. If your team gets shut down on the exchange then you shouldn't have more than a minute to get on the objective. Would rather it just be "only the first payload to the finish line gets to attack the core" while ensuring that their paths always cross each other.

Every second you stall the enemy team without dying is an advantage for you. If you have someone who can pretty easily juke in an out, even a second or two stalling the enemy payload while you finish up yours is a few second advantage for later payloads. 10s per payload that you manage to not die can add up pretty quickly.

The payloads stay on the map too long for stalling to accomplish much. You can wipe the floor with the enemy team for the first round and it doesn't matter, if they push it 10 minutes later they're right back in the game.

Pilot D.Va maining seems like it will be the meta. Big Shot immediately struck me as the goto Ult for her. The dash that lets you go through people as a pilot will just add an escape to her, and then you just focus on cooldown and boosters and your tank becomes a glorified mount with an hp bar to soak people's rotations before you self destruct and blow their faces off while they're on cooldown, then dash away and jump back into your tank as your escape.

Just a few games screwing around with D.Va but Bunny Hop is really good and combined with her D-Matrix talents that increase duration + give it a slowing effect she is basically impossible to retreat from.

100% of the teams you'll see on PTR will have Alarak/Tyrande/D.Va and I can say that a good Alarak will be very frustrating to play against. His stupid silence thing lasts forever and he does some pretty scary midrange damage for a melee assassin.
