e: illidan, so that i can go on global hunting trips on the unprepared.

e2: nazeebo, so that i can carry an endless bag of spiders and toads everywhere i go.

consider also, what if the hero gets a rework or their talents get busted.

is that $20 for covering the hero in perpetuity, or is it a new 20 with every rework?

Another map fact: There's the sharks on blackhearts bay - if you click on them enough they fall into the water.

i once had an AI game where there was a leoric who just fed over and over on towers of doom. as a ktz, i rolled with it and urged him to keep going in undeath solidarity. just some good fun leoric and ktz RP with some rando.

even with his like 20+ deaths the ai was no big deal.

probably the best hots game ive ever played tbh

If you like the game, but don't like going up against premades, just do what I do and play vs AI. Laugh as you devastate AI foes, dunk on them as hard as possible with or without your friends. Feels good man

theyre good for quickly knockin out the dailies with little to no stress, and/or playin weird builds for funsies too

It's unfortunate that Taunt Varian is usually considered the "good" choice when Smash Varian is the one that's actually fun. If I'm playing Varian it's because I want to 100-0 explode a Valla in one second while screaming at her.

It never felt like the "correct" build, but smash varian with the 4s charge talent always felt fun as hell rushing around everywhere.

put a lot of hours into this game. i think the thing that made it stand out for me was basically "MOBA but with a map rotation and no last hits."

i also enjoyed most of the specialists.

hope someone down the line rips off murky's playstyle, its too fun to die

i never got good at illidan but i never gave up until i stopped playing the game altogether.

also shout out to my first main dude zeratul

sure okay posted:

I used to say that when it came time to negotiate with your team on who's playing what during a competitive draft, highlighting Murky was like quietly setting a gun on the table. Hated that little guy. He's the epitome of "cool concept" but "feels terrible to play with OR against." It's like, the game you thought you were playing is no longer the game you're playing. 5v5 fights are never going to be fair, and now it's all about stalling for or fighting against a backdooring little poo poo. Shoulda been cut.

what in the world

murky is the only thing that makes me think of reinstalling

remove it from everyone except murky's invis egg talent and buff its duration imo

back when i played more regularly id do vs AI to knock out the daily quests way quicker, towards the end basically all i did just so i could have the gold for the last few new heroes when they hit

e: also sometimes i just want to not worry and be a dumb twin blade varian and drat whether its the right choice or not

brightwing is kind of a bird too

also re: ROTS, falstad looks broken too. a level 20 map wide hinterland blast with a 35 sec cd and 15 secs off per hero hit sounds nuts.

also a quest talent that gives an extra charge of barrel roll and flight for taking merc camps.

a well executed blade dash and phase prism is its own reward

i was thinking about zagara's E or azmo's minions draining tower ammo the other day and also locked talents the other day too, some pretty major changes over the years to it

I used to do a ton of aba solo quickplay because it was fun figuring out how I was going to best push an uncoordinated team towards victory. Less playing to win and more playing to gamble on what the thing most likely to result in winning was. Definitely got me looking at and thinking about the character and his talents and what they're good for way beyond what I was otherwise (I'm the only person in the world who really, really misses assault strain)

i miss it too and also just in general the specialist laning mold of yore, theres a few other older kits i liked a lot and mostly never got the hand of newer ones; chen and gazlowe come to mind, and rexxar also comes to mind for "lots of changes" but esp around misha control i think?

who ended up getting the most reworks anyways? thinking about gaz and rexxar my initial guess is each had at least 3rd major change ups? there's been a lot of mechanics changes and without delving into some wiki and/or changelogs (i refuse) i have a harder time remembering if things came in a full rework or just adapting to changed mechanics or adding in baseline quests to older kits etc.
