It might go live, they are probably pretty dead set on release next patch whether it's fixed by then or not. It will have nothing to do with some imagined scheme to get people to buy new heroes though.

I can think of no angels outside of the Diablo games that look particularly similar to that design.

How liberal is Blizz in handing out bans/suspensions? Curious if that DVA that AFK'ed for half the game and purposefully fed for the other half in ranked is going to get what's coming to her.

They just banned a bunch of people for AFK and specifically said it was people who were clearly non-contributing (stats, not just reports) in the "majority of their games". Which either means over 50% of their games or could mean significantly more, but your run of the mill ragequitter is certainly not in any danger.

Anti-Uther Xul build sounds weird, especially since they will probably be in opposite lanes anyway. But I really don't see the big deal about "refusing" to ban Uther. Is there some Uther bug on Braxis I don't know about?

Team comp is more than anything else a really powerful confirmation bias.

Declare "lost at draft" at start. Then half the time you'll lose the game, which is normal, and you can say "yepppp nothing we could do with this comp" and the other half the time you win and you either just forget about it or make some off-hand remark about how bad the enemy team was.

Team comps matter and no one actually said they didn't; they just make a relatively small difference compared to other factors that are likely to decide a game's outcome. A really bad draft is probably like 45% or something. Hope that clears things up.

The only exception is if they already burned their ults ineffectively. That's worth keeping track of, once ults are down it's anyone's game.

But in most cases the team that reaches level 10 first have free rein of the map for a while.

I'm kind of slowly climbing about the Overwatch heroes hate train too. I find myself playing the game less and less, it's just a different game now, and I liked hots for the game it was.

Not surprising. Double support double warrior vs single support auriel without a good battery (Auriel needs someone who can continuously damage, not heroes who blow their load and then stand around useless for 12 seconds) and no warrior. You probably just outlasted them in every team fight. I bet their scrubathur went monstrosity for maximum throw.

Or maybe both comps are fine and one team just played better...

You don't get better at it if you don't do it though. If you just axe using E from your kit you'll be a Bad Hammer forever.

I don't care what she looks like as long as she has all her iconic abilities, such as letting you rewatch the Wrathgate cutscene and... hmmm... stand on top of a big tower. What else does she do again? gently caress

This is very similar in spirit to the argument that last hitting makes for more interesting gameplay than just soaking experience. I'd rather encourage the players to focus on positioning, cooldown management, dodging skill-shots and map awareness than having them spend brain cycles on stutter stepping in and out of counter attack range as the barrier to higher level play.

Stutter stepping still slows you down though. For non-Overwatch heroes those autoattacks aren't free, you still have to stand still for a moment to make them. How many times have to died trying to get that one autoattack in while running away, or have someone get just outside ability range because you stutter stepped instead of just running after them?

Diablo can solo tank in a pinch, he has good hp and sustain, but you have to play him pretty differently from how most people want to play him. If you Q in vs 5 people they either nuke you down or just run past you and slaughter your team.

Yeah and this is exactly what kept happening. Like if someone bypasses Muradin/Jo/ETC/Garrosh/Anub you can pretty easily turn around and stun/toss/pull then off of your squishers. Diablo is out of luck unless he happens to be close enough to overpower them, or happens to have the right angle on his q to not just shove the red right into the person you're trying to peel for.

Well you say "happens to", but being well positioned in relation to your and the enemy team is basically your one job as a solo tank.

In about 70% of my AI games the other four people immediately dogpile mid and fart around there while ignoring the side lanes, so I usually end up split pushing on most characters.

It's the correct strategy for AI games though. Soak XP is nothing compared to a 5-minute keep.

My rule of thumb is; if someone is criticizing a comp and uses the words Warrior, Assassin, Specialist or Support, I stop taking them seriously. A bit the same as if someone were lecturing me about chemistry and they suddenly start talking about the 4 basic elements.

I still have no problem with Raynor's design. He's a bog standard, super simple autoattacker and that's an absolutely fine thing for one of the games 70+ heroes to be. Sometimes you just want to right click stuff.

I obviously don't know about your specific game, but ime when tanks are whining about doing more dps than the assassins it's usually because they're chasing after kills and doing a poo poo job protecting and enabling their dps like they're supposed to.

Blizzard make pretty good video games, they should try selling those to people instead, that's worked pretty well for them in the past. When it comes to cosmetics and stuff they're pretty bad at it honestly, there's not much there I'd be interested in paying for if I wasn't looking for an excuse to support the game. Haven't spent a dime since they started making me jump through hoops.
