I couldn't find any thread on this (I thought there was one back when the localization was announced but I guess not :/ ) but I'm about to get started on my new adventure... Has anyone else had the chance to pick this up?

I'm not too far into it yet to fully give an opinion but I agree. Vocation changing is neat (and pretty necessary since, as in DQH:TWTWATBB, you can't remove the MC from the party) Accordia is cool, a worthy replacement for the Stonecloud. I'm also really happy that they added a little pop up to tell you when a quest is completed! I've seen people complain about not just being able to build tension by holding O anymore but I kind of like that- tension building could really cheapen some parts of the original, and I confess to abusing it myself in a couple sections. Transmog systems are always awesome, too, and it's great to see one in this.

I guess the only things I'm not as keen on so far are that Accordia seems to be the only town in the game (I wanted to explore Harba :() and that the only sentry monsters this time around are the little guys- one of my favorite things to do in the first game was collect a ton of giant high-level sentry monsters and release them all at once.

Is it just 2 player co-op or can we roll with like 4 people in a party?

Is there less map control-kinda stuff than the first game? I liked it except for that aspect

It's too early to tell, but I haven't run into any point defense missions yet. I've done a couple of escort missions though.

Oh that's tight. I liked the first game a lot for some aspects but it didn't 100% click with me and I always thought co-op would push it over the edge

That's just secondary here say though, I haven't played the game myself yet.

Played a bit more of this & I'm enjoying it but I'm a little disappointed that so far there doesn't seem to be much difference in movesets from the previous game. The girl MC is literally the same and the axe lady is a copy of Yangus but a little harder to control. Koei has gotten better about that in the past few years so I was a little surprised when it's done here.

Basically if you're waiting for the Switch version that bundles both games, don't. Just play the new one it's got coop!

The two MCs can change their movesets from the priest guy in Accordia. You have to level up each moveset though

I've only ever been able to do the Co-Op dungeons once ever, the second time had one guy afk in the lobby before leaving and I've had nothing since, game's good but online co-op is almost nonexistant.

this is sort of how i felt about the online component of Builders. you only get one shared building, you can't see who's interacted with it, and there's essentially no connection between players
