Adiabatic posted:Just got a personal property city tax of $1100. Maybe I should go back to old, beat-up cars. That's for your AMG merc, right? Is that 6 months or a year? And did it qualify for the tax relief bit? Just wondering. The first time I registered my old duramax in Henrico I was shocked at the 700ish tax bill for 6 months. Apparently 3/4 ton trucks didn't qualify for the 50% off tax relief that normal vehicles did.

Mine used to say something about tax relief and had two columns on the bill, one with the discount and one without. $1100 for the year sounds like the relief was factored in unless things changed since I moved a couple years ago. This describes it: http://henrico.us/finance/divisions/revenue-division/personal-property-tax-relief/ It should apply regardless of your jurisdiction. rdb fucked around with this message at 01:15 on May 4, 2017 |

It's normal for one horse to dominate the rest of the herd but if they get aggressive to the point where they are a danger to people it's time to go. My in laws are both vets and had an older pony who was like that. She met the same fate after breaking someone's leg. You almost couldn't walk through the pasture without her trying to sneak up from behind and bite.

Speaking of tires and rims, I bought a set of 20" factory take offs from a 2017 tundra to go on my 2012. I contacted someone on CL and went to pick them up today, at the local toyota dealer of all places. Turns out they still had the nubs on them and had the TPMS sensors inside as well. Felt like a good deal, just surprised to see an employee selling them for cash out of the back door. But that's not the only surprise. Apparently 275/55R20 have become so common that replacement tires are cheaper than the 275/65R18s that came on it. Wtf, I remember when 20's used to be a stupid expensive waste of money size that only came on luxury poo poo and only lasted 15k tops. I guess that's 24s and 26s these days.

There's lots of people with crohns already using it with great success, and now there's a new strain that's 50/50 CBD/THC that people are raving about so we'll see. In the meantime I just buy it from my friends who get it from Colorado. It's just a matter of being legal or not, and of course I'd rather be legal even if it's gonna cost me a lot more money. That being said, I haven't had to use it much since going gluten free, where as before I was smoking every day just trying to get any kind of relief from the pain. I wish smoking weed did something for me other than let my paranoia and anxiety run loving wild. Also on the bike chat, I have something similar to that hybrid posted earlier, what specifically do you recommend for tires if I have to ride gravel? I have some skinny Michelin Road tires on it now and haven't touched it since moving because of that.

I lived in complexes with good maintenance. Last time the AC broke in an apartment I was renting the tech came out within 30 minutes to fix it. He wound up just having to change the cap and managed to electrocute himself while doing so. But the AC was nice and cold! I think though, and I'm sure explodingsims will correct me, but a 30 amp breaker usually indicates a 3t compressor. So it should be pulling less than 20a while running, more at start, and 70-80 fully locked which is what it's pulling if it's tripping breakers and melting contactors. All of this should be on the data plate and it's also pretty easy to check with a meter. Your maintenance guy probably lacks the license to handle refrigerant if he's changing everything else first.

Wait till you see the price toyota dealers ask for parts. Your best bet is to just resign yourself to letting it deteriorate and then paying your insurance deductible and getting it fixed before you sell it.

everdave posted:I understand this thinking, it's just man this is a brand new freaking car. Yes I know it's just a Prius but I enjoyed driving it solo to a funeral last week and being in a new car. Now it's already looking like poo poo. Tried to do something nice. I don't know what to do. Just chill and let it go. Or stop driving it. That taillight is probably $600 by itself. The first new car I bought was a 2009 cobalt SS turbo. It got rear ended at night 2 weeks after I bought it and I didn't see the damage. The lady who did it gave me false information. I just let it go and moved on. I have a 2013 Prius C. I had it 6 months and took it through a car wash. The attendant got too close to the front bumper cover and took some paint off. Of course they wouldn't own up to it the next day when I noticed. Last year I backed into some trailer ramps and mauled up the rear bumper. And this year it got backed into and the drivers door smashed up. Since the door wouldn't open we got it all fixed($3200ish). I warned my wife not to let bugs and bird poo poo sit on the fresh paint. It got fixed in march and just got its first wash yesterday. Guess what the paint looks like? My point is, if you drive the car it's going to happen. If someone else drives the car, especially if they aren't writing checks for it, it's going to happen even more often. You can either live with it, pay the price to fix it, or stop buying new cars. And don't put it down because it's a Prius. Mine has been hands down the best vehicle purchase I have ever made. No, it's not exciting, but it's not supposed to be. What it's supposed to do is get you there reliability, comfortably, and using the least amount of resources. It excels at all three.

Well, for at least two years anyway - possibly longer. Details? Does anyone know where the AC thread went? I need it. Not sure if I should bother changing what I think is a stuck txv or not. System still cools great but pressures are not ideal. High pressure line is a bit high and low a bit low. Might be an airflow issue too.
