Can one of you mugs who actually still watches Question Time (I hear last night was one of the rare ones without UKIP representation!) confirm if this actually happened?

Yes it did although mostly because the microphone was still next to the questioner and he had a really obnoxious laugh.

With the speech Corbyn is meant to be making today I think we will see the gain in the polls melting away.

The speech overall reads fine but this section is going to go down like a lead balloon.

"That assessment in no way reduces the guilt of those who attack our children. Those terrorists will forever be reviled and held to account for their actions.

But an informed understanding of the causes of terrorism is an essential part of an effective response that will protect the security of our people that fights rather than fuels terrorism.

We must be brave enough to admit the ‘war on terror’ is simply not working. We need a smarter way to reduce the threat from countries that nurture terrorists and generate terrorism."

The British public do not seem open to taking a nuanced position on terrorism at the moment.

Labour should have just let UKIP jump up and down about police cuts, whilst pointing at their own policy to increase police numbers by 10,000.

Personally I think we will get the cataclysmic 100+ tory gains but then I'm a complete pessimist.

I did start feeling hope a week or two ago, felt confident Labour would hold on to Hove and win Kemptown locally but then you consider the fact UKIP who were worth circa 3k votes in those constituencies will no longer be fielding candidates and the situation looks pretty dire.

A friend of mine voted leave because he was pissed off at the cost and process he had to go through for his US girlfriend to live here, so it was basically a vote in spite so that EU immigrants have to go through the same thing.

This time 1.5 m under 35s registered to vote, whether or not that is enough to make a difference depends on (a) how many are new registrations (b) how many of them will actually vote and (c) how many of them will vote not tory in a constituency where it will make a difference.
