if you're rebuilding, its best to follow the Cubs and now Yankees model of finding talented hitters and figuring out the pitching later. as we've seen, pitchers are increasingly more fungible, and aces like Kershaw and Sale are extremely rare! of course, you need good luck and good scouts to even have poo poo maybe break right, but it seems like hitting first pitching later is a solid model to build on
